griefy mama

Bring all of it. We'll walk with you.

griefy mama is a space for parents who've lived through the worst day(s) of their lives — the day(s) their child(ren) died.

Draft mission, in your words

IRL, community, resources for any parent (and eventually those who care for them) who is now part of this alternate world, grief education.

Courtney: this is straight from your email, untouched. Shape it into whatever feels true.

If your child died recently

You don't have to know where to start.

Come to one walk and say nothing. Send Courtney a message. Read for a while. There's no wrong way in, and no one will ask you for anything.

My why.

I'm Courtney. Alexander's mama.

"Community doesn't take away the hurt, but it can make living with it feel a little less lonely."

griefy tunes

What song resonates with your grief?

Music always played a special role in our lives. It was a source of communication between Alexander and me. When he couldn't say the words, he could hum the tunes and hit the notes. Music symbolized a language we shared.

How this stays free

Free for every parent. Carried by all of us.

No one is turned away for money, and no one has to explain. If this has helped you, chip in monthly or once. If you can't right now, you're just as welcome.

Carry a parent

$35 a month covers one parent's place. They won't be asked to explain, and you won't be told who. Give in your child's name if you'd like. We will say it.

Where it goes

  • Courtney's time, so this can be her work
  • Walks, gatherings and the tools that run them
  • Places for parents who can't give right now

For nurses, social workers and chaplains

When a parent asks "where do I go from here?"

Send them here. Parents of children of any age are welcome, from the very first days.
